Objective

Install a pilot anaerobic digestion unit in Goma producing biogas, electricity and biofertilizer from organic waste.

Beneficiaries and impact

The project targets 300 women processors organized in 10 cooperatives and plans 45 direct jobs. Target capacity is 5 tonnes of waste, 200 m³ of biogas and 150 kWh of electricity per day, plus 200 tonnes of biofertilizer per year.

Duration and funding

The planned duration is 18 months and the requested amount is USD 195,000.
